Build Your BEST Capsule Wardrobe for Fall 2025
I love love love fall! The crisp in the air, the rustling yellow leaves against the bright blue sky, the relief from the heat, and yes, even the pumpkin spice. I’m that girl!
Raised on a tree-lined street with Victorian houses, kicking maple and cottonwood leaves on my way to the bus stop, watching Gilmore Girls with my mom. I can’t help it. All my best memories have fall vibes.
That’s why I am always dying to build my capsule wardrobe for fall, in August, when it’s still 100 degrees outside. But finally, finally it’s time! Let’s build our capsule wardrobe for fall together!

What Should Your Capsule Wardrobe for Fall Include?
Before we go into details what are we thinking when we talk about a capsule wardrobe for fall? Well, I always think of rich warm colors like burgundy, pumpkin orange, olive green, and some purples. I also always include comfy cozy items in my fall capsule wardrobe.
Last but not least, I personally feel very western/boho in the fall. What about you? Are you more sporty? Classic? Minimalist? It’s important to define your personal style before you start building your capsule wardrobe for fall. However, you may find that the items below are very versatile and can fit almost any style!
Let’s get started! You can grab your entire capsule wardrobe for fall on Amazon through the links below or you can let those items inspire you to pull from your own closet or a thrift shop!

Your Capsule Wardrobe for Fall Starts with Great Tops and Sweaters!
I know that pants set the tone but for me, tops make the outfit! Plus, they are more fun! And in the fall you need a good mixture of tops for the varying temperatures. For casual layering or warmer days you might love a bookish t-shirt that evokes all the cozy feels. Then you might add a long cardigan when it’s cooler. On other days you might enjoy a light-weight blouse. I like elevated basics like this casual lace sleeve henley or a slightly more formal Swiss dot pleated henley blouse in pretty fall hues like yellow, orange, burgundy or olive.
As the weather turns cooler you will want to pull out some nice sweaters. You might choose a neutral lantern sleeve pullover sweater for a classic look or a more casual striped sweater. Whatever you do, match cozy with cute and you can’t go wrong as you build your capsule wardrobe for fall.
Pants for Your Fall Capsule Wardrobe
The next step in building your capsule wardrobe for fall is choosing pants that will go with your tops. I love a good pair of bootcut jeans but wide-leg jeans are very popular right now and can be very flattering as well.
Last but not least I can’t resist classic corduroy pants! I have a pair in this sort of burgundy brown and it’s amazing how many different colors it can compliment! I wear them all the time!

Dress Up Your Capsule Wardrobe for Fall
What if you want to dress up a little in the fall? There are beautiful options for that as well. I don’t think you can go wrong with a floral boho dress and a good faux suede skirt has long been a staple of my fall wardrobe.
If it’s colder you would look adorable in a pleated sweater dress and if you need something more formal I have this burnout velvet dress in bronze and jade and it is just as comfortable as it is gorgeous!
Start Walking Into Fall!
What about shoes? The shoes you wear can influence the whole look of an outfit so it’s important to pick good ones.
For casual outfits you can’t go wrong with these great suede sneakers in a nice fall color. And if you want to have a bit of fun with your jeans and floral dresses these cowboy boots are the kick you need. For fancier events these t-strap pumps are the perfect blend of comfort and beauty!

Warm up Your Capsule Wardrobe for Fall
No capsule wardrobe for fall is complete without some jackets. Not only do they warm you up, they also define the outfit!
I have two jackets I wear throughout fall and they are classics. First is my Levi’s classic jeans jacket which goes with anything casual. And second is my faux suede moto jacket. Mine is orange and when I first bought it I was afraid I wouldn’t have enough things to match it to. Thankfully that hasn’t been the case. It goes with everything!
What I love about those two jackets is they are nice and lightweight because fall isn’t very cold where I live. If your fall is colder you might want a nice London Fog peacoat, a great investment that will never go out of style. I have one but I don’t wear it till Winter.
Styling Your Capsule Wardrobe for Fall
Don’t forget to style your capsule wardrobe for fall. Simple details can really make an outfit shine. I love my braided leather belt for any pants and my stretchy belt is a fun accent with skirts and dresses.
To bring the fall vibes into even better focus a boho crossbody purse with a fun strap and a felt fedora will make you look right at home in artsy places like Santa Fe. Last but not least, a beautiful Pashmina scarf can add timeless class to any outfit!
Whatever you do, have fun creating your fall outfits! When you build a capsule wardrobe for fall it’s just one more way to celebrate the best season of the year! The next step is inviting your bestie for coffee!
